Powerful and affordable motion control at last!

End mills are the type of cutter most frequently used with Vertical Milling Machines.  They come in a variety of sizes starting from about 1/32" diameter, they can be made of either high speed tool steel or carbide and they can be two, three, forur or more flutes.  In selecting an end mill to do a specific operation, it's a good idea to use the largest diameter cutter that you can use.  The larger size cutter is not only stronger and less prone to breakage, it is also more rigid so that it is easier to hold tolerances.  Small diameter cutters are used when it is necessary to work in a small space of when it is desirable to leave a small corner radius.  The corner radius left by an end mill is always equal to one half the diameter of the cutter.

For use with the Milling Machine, we recommend three-flute cutters.  The flutes on a three-flute cutter are larger than those on a four-flute cutter and less prone to cloging.

The END MILL SET is made up of the highest quality cutters manufactured in the miniature series.  The set consist of three 3-flute cutters.  Sizes are 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" diameter, all with 1/4" shanks.  Note: It is always a good idea to use cutting oil when working with end mills.
