Welcome to the EasyCAM Pro for WindowsTM tutorial!  This tutorial will outline the basic steps required to design and turn a simple lathe part.

In the shareware CAD software called DeltaCAD included with your purchase, draw the profile of the shape you want to turn.  The axis of rotation should be at y=0.

The red horizontal line shown is the centerline located at y=0.  Do NOT put the centerline in your drawing.  It is shown for instructional purposes only.

Now  write the DXF file...

Now in EasyCAM Pro, set your DXF import settings under Setup Preferences...

And your Rough Turning settings...

Then import the DXF file into EasyCAM Pro and hit the Run button...

Since this is a brand new program, it doesn't know the material diameter to use yet so the Material Diameter form pops up.  It takes a guess based on the size of the part but you can set the real value here.

When you click OK, the cutter begins to move to the start location and the material, represented by the yellow rectangle, begins to be whittled away by the cutter until the final pass cleans it up to the final profile.
